EXPERIENCE

I have been working as an Occupational Therapist in Mental Health & Psychiatry since 2024. In my current role, I work mostly with children between the ages of 5 - 13, although I also enjoy adolescent and adult therapy. Previously, I completed my Community Service in 2023 at a district level hospital in Eastern Cape, where I became more interested in OTs role in Mental Health.

EDUCATION & PROFFESIONAL DEVELOPMENTI hold a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (2022). My additional professional training includes Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for multi-diagnostic clients, DIR Floortime, Play as a Means to Emotional Well-Being, and Experiential Group Therapy, which collectively inform my work in supporting emotional regulation, developmental engagement, and therapeutic group processes.​

APPROACH TO THERAPY

I am passionate about adding life to days in all ways possible, and particularly enjoy working through a trauma informed somatic lens to nurture self awareness, connection and growth. I work to provide a safe space for children to regulate and play, utilizing a child-lead DIR Floortime approach. I believe therapy should be a collaborative, compassionate and empowering process.

PERSONAL INTERESTSI enjoy reading, board games, art, exploring new places and prioritize ongoing learning at both a professional and personal level.​
